Character Development
The Character Education Program offered by St. Paul's Academy is a very important component of each student's education. We live in a society where absolute right and wrong has become blurred and virtuous living is not honored as it once was. The goal of the St. Paul's Character Program is to teach each student that if you live a life of honor and integrity, in service to others, your opportunities for success will be greatly enhanced. To this end, St. Paul's incorporates Character Education in all aspects of the program: Academics, Counseling, Student Life, required Community Service and the Knighthood.
The Knighthood of St. Paul's Preparatory Academy, a rights of passage system, is the character development component of the school's holistic approach in working with students. St. Paul's considers character, community service, physical well being, spirituality, prayer and meditation, and ethical reflection to be essential components of successful living. The Knighthood of St. Paul's fosters the virtues of patience, responsibility, courage, trust, honor, and integrity. The degree of Knight is awarded to those students whose character, in the opinion of students, faculty, and staff, exhibits the virtues we teach in beneficial choices and actions for the sake of both his own best interests and in the service of others.
